Tarikh Al-Jabarti

Abd Al-Rahman Al-Jabarti (Egyptian Arabic El-Gabrti) was a muslim Scholar, scientist of astrology, mathematics and a well known chronicler of the Egyptian history of the Mamlouk dynasty and the French expedition on Egypt and the era of Muhammad Ali's seizure of power

His father Hassan Al-Jabarti was also a well known scholar and charity man, Abd Al-Rahman was the only son of Sheik Hassan, it is also known that Sheik Hassan had more than 40 child they all died as children except for Sheik Abd Al-Rahman.

It is not known how many childs Sheik Abd Al-Rahman had but his son Khalil was killed 1822 and he mourned his son till he lost his sight, he remaind at home and ceased his activities till he died in 1825!

His famous book Aja'ib al-Athar fi 'l-Tarajim wa'l-Akhbar

The book is known as Al-Jabarti's History (ie the history told by Al-Jabarti) - Tarikh Al-Jabarti.
